Here’s a mashup you can’t help but like. Jay-Z, successful rapper/mogul/human, has teamed up with legendary watchmakers Hublot to create the Shawn Carter by Hublot Classic Fusion watches. (Those who have been paying attention may have seen this coming. On the 2011 Kanye/Jay track “Otis,” Jay rapped, “Proof, I guess I got my swagger back/Truth, new watch alert: Hublots.”)
The collaboration comes in two variations: a black ceramic piece limited to 250 (and priced at $17,900), and a yellow-gold piece limited to 100 (that’ll be $33,900, please). Both feature distinct Shawn Carter design motifs, a 90-hour power reserve and a sapphire crystal. There is no guarantee that wearing one will give you Jay-Z’s midas touch, however.
