Every big game deserves a special snack to accompany it. This Salsa Criolla provides a tasty healthier alternative for Super Sundays.

 

Ingredients

1 onion, sliced

2 cloves of garlic, smashed

2 tablespoons of olive oil

2 tomatoes, diced

½ tablespoon of chipotle pepper

2 tablespoons of honey

½ bunch of cilantro

Juice of 1 lime

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions

In a large sauté pan, sauté the onions and garlic in olive oil, until the onions are translucent. Add the tomatoes, chipotle pepper, honey, cilantro, and lime juice. Cook for about 5 to 10 minutes over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Salsa Criolla can be served warm or cold with fresh tortilla chips.
